Our Story: Why We Started
Hi, we’re Max & Tricia!
Our Personal Transformation
Everything began when we completely rethought the way we live. We moved to an animal-based way of eating together, and what followed changed everything — between the two of us, we dropped 80 lbs. But the scale was only part of it. It woke us up to just how much the modern world was quietly shaping our health.
Once we had cleaned up what went into our bodies, the obvious next question was what we were putting on them. Turns out the bottles crowding our bathroom shelf were packed with exactly what we had just removed from our plates: heavily processed seed oils and harsh synthetic chemicals.

The Kilimanjaro Revelation
It all crystallised when Max set out to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Across seven brutal days under some of the most punishing sun on the planet, he could not name a single sunscreen he actually trusted. The choice was either a chemical burn from a “conventional” formula or a real one from the sun. He came home, we sat down at our kitchen table, and we agreed we were finished compromising. If we wanted sun care free of harsh synthetics — for us and for the people around us — we were going to have to make it ourselves.
The Tallow Revolution
Months of research, testing and near-obsession over every single ingredient followed. We kept coming back to tallow — an ancestral, deeply nourishing fat that was the benchmark for skincare long before industrial seed oils pushed it aside. Its molecular make-up mirrors our own skin, so it does not simply sit on top; it genuinely feeds it. Pairing grass-fed tallow with non-nano zinc oxide gave us the formula we had been chasing: protection that works like a shield, with the feel of a luxury moisturizer.
200,000 Strong
What began with the two of us packing orders by hand in a small apartment is now a community more than 200,000 people deep. A personal mission turned into being voted a Yuka Top 10 Sunscreen of 2025. We are simply a couple committed to living without harsh synthetics — and to helping you do the same.
