Do you use non-nano zinc oxide?

Why do you use tallow in your sunscreen? Is it also eco-conscious or cruelty-free?
Tallow carries vitamins A, D, E and K — nutrients associated with skin that stays healthy and resilient. Because its fatty-acid makeup is so close to the sebum your own skin produces, it sinks in easily and helps strengthen your natural barrier.
We source from grass-fed cattle raised on regenerative pastures without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
The tallow we work with is a food-industry by-product that would otherwise be discarded, so using it cuts waste and eases the demand on land compared with some seed-oil production routes.
Is there a risk of Mad Cow Disease?
None whatsoever. Our tallow comes from Australia, a country with no history of the disease at all.

Will it smell like beef?
No. A thorough purification stage clears out any off-putting odor, leaving behind only a soft, pleasant natural scent.

Is it effective in blocking out UVA and UVB (Broad Spectrum)?
Yes it is. Broad-spectrum protection is built into the formula, meaning both UVA and UVB rays are held off. UVA is the range that ages skin early — wrinkles, age spots — while UVB is what burns it. Overexposure to either one raises the risk of skin cancer.
Non-nano zinc oxide, the active mineral we rely on, is highly capable of deflecting both ray types so your skin stays safe and healthy in the sun. The FDA endorses it for exactly that combination of safety and performance.
Is it safe for my kids?
